Workshop with Steen Koerner and Olafur Eliasson

June 15 between 10am–3pm

To celebrate the publication of Studio Olafur Eliasson – Open House, Olafur Eliasson has invited the choreographer, dancer, and movement specialist Steen Koerner to collaborate with Green light participants in conducting a movement workshop. Picking up on one of the book’s central themes, the workshop will look at the notion of embodiment and how it plays out in social settings, focusing on its relationship to art production and perception. Together with the Green light participants, Koerner will explore dance, music, and movement as forms of cross-cultural communication that build confidence, community, and a sense of belonging.

Steen Koerner started his career as a self-taught robotic dancer in 1982, and has since been a driving force in the urban-arts community. In 2004 he was awarded The Hip Hop Lifetime Achievement Award. He founded the Steen Koerner Studio as an urban art company engaging in dance, music, poetry, graffiti, art film, architecture, city space development, and theatre.

Special guest: Razan Haugaard, who runs a number of integration projects for new arrivals to Denmark.
